KATHMANDU, June 25: Sobita Gautam, a member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Member of Parliament (MP), has been named among the finalists for the prestigious 'Young World Politician of the Year' award.
One Young World, an organization that recognizes young leaders aged 18 to 35, has shortlisted Gautam as one of the 15 exceptional individuals from around the globe. Hailing from Nepal, Gautam stands out as the youngest MP in the country's history at the age of 27.

Gautam's selection has been attributed to her noteworthy anti-corruption campaign and her immense popularity.
The nominees for this coveted award are chosen based on their significant influence in the field of politics. Out of the 15 finalists, five outstanding individuals will be honored with the Young World Politician of the Year Award.
The winners will be announced during the World Youth Summit scheduled to take place in Belfast in July 2023.
Accompanying Gautam are 14 other distinguished youth ministers, parliamentarians, and mayors from various countries across the globe, all vying for this esteemed recognition.
