Devotees can now make monetary offerings at Pashupatinath through a ‘QR Code’ system.
KATHMANDU, Feb 26: Monetary offerings could be offered via a QR Code kept at four different places of Pashupatinath including the southern entrance gate, the shoe and slipper room and the main temple premises. A machine has been kept there for the same.
The monetary offering could be deposited in the bank account of Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) from an online payment system by using a mobile phone. It is learnt that the system will help control the misuse of monetary offerings.

An agreement in this regard was signed today with the collaboration of the PADT and Bank of Kathmandu Ltd.
Inaugurating the QR Code system today, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Maha Prasad Adhikari said that this system should be developed across the nation.
He laid emphasis on the need for creating awareness across the nation in this regard.
Similarly, member secretary of PADT, Dr Pradeep Dhakal, said the technology will facilitate monetary offerings.
Chairperson of Bank of Kathmandu Ltd, Prakash Shrestha, shared that this service will be started at other shrines of the country as well.
