MoHP appoints focal persons in 14 hospitals for monkeypox treatment

KATHMANDU, June 18: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has appointed 14 doctors as focal persons for the treatment of monkeypox disease.

KATHMANDU, June 18: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has appointed 14 doctors as focal persons for the treatment of monkeypox disease.


According to Spokesperson at the MoHP Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, the ministry has designated one doctor each in various 12 hospitals in different parts of the country.

The MoHP has designated Dr Keshav Dhakal as focal person in Mechi Hospital, Dr Siwi Jha in Koshi Hospital, Dr Suchana Marhatta in BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dr Ramgyan Yadav in Janakpur Hospital, Dr Ananda Nepal in Gandaki Hospital, Dr. Atulesh Kumar Chaurasia in Birgunj Hospital, Dr Shashi Hirachan in Bharatpur Hospital and Dr. Niraj Parajuli in Bir Hospital for the treatment of monkeypox disease. 


Similarly, MoHP has designated Dr Monica Kafle at Patan Academy of Health Sciences, Dr Sarvendra Jha at Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Dr Mani Lal Shrestha at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Dr Badri Chapagai at Bheri Hospital, Dr Susmita Pradhan at Surkhet Hospital and Dr Dinesh Shiwakoti at Seti Hospital as focal person for the treatment of this disease.
