KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has urged the Nepalis all over the world to think about how they could utilize the skills, knowledge and technology they have acquired while living and working in different countries for the economic development and prosperity of Nepal.



He made this statement while addressing a program organized on Saturday in the Thai capital Bangkok to extend greetings and best wishes on the occasion of the Bada Dasain festival. The program was organized by the Nepali Embassy in Bangkok, the Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA), Thailand and the AIT Nepali Society, Thailand.



Stating that Nepalis are now present all over the world, Minister Dr Mahat called on the Nepalis, wherever they are, to move ahead with the sense of doing something for their motherland.



He said Nepal was now moving towards the phase of economic development through the implementation of the constitution, noting that the world community has extended support to and wished well for this campaign. The Minister also urged the Nepalis to actively contribute to this campaign from their respective places.



He also maintained that the process of addressing the grievances of different communities towards the constitution has already been started and the government would create an environment where in the nation would move forward on the path of national consensus and cooperation.



President of NRNA Thailand Khagendra Prasad Dhakal also spoke on the occasion, extending profound felicitations on behalf the Nepali community living in Thailand. A large number of Nepalis living in Bangkok were present at the program.



The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Minister Mahat reached Bangkok on Friday leading a Nepali delegation to the Second Conference of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue.



Also on Saturday evening, Minister Dr Mahat is scheduled to address the banquet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs from the Forum's member countries.



He is scheduled to address the ACD conference as the leader of the Nepali delegation on Monday morning. The ACD Forum has 34 countries from Asia as its members. The ACD held its First Conference in Kuwait in 2012. RSS
