KATHMANDU, June 12: Energy Minister Deepak Khadka urged the World Bank to quickly finalize the financial management for the Upper Arun Hydropower Project.
During a meeting with World Bank South Asia Director Pankaj Gupta at the Ministry of Energy in Singha Durbar on Thursday, Energy Minister Deepak Khadka said delays in finalizing financial management had pushed the Upper Arun Hydropower Project into uncertainty.

Although the World Bank committed to arranging financing for the project a year ago, it has reportedly shown reluctance due to India's interest in the 1,063 MW semi-reservoir project.
According to Minister Khadka’s Personal Secretariat, Regional Director Gupta assured that the World Bank has prioritized the Upper Arun Hydropower Project.
