Minister Jhakri instructs officials to complete project on time

KATHMANDU, April 6: Minister for Urban Development, Ram Kumari Jhakri inspected the archeological structures being constructed at Gujeshwori and Teku under the High-Powered Committee for Integrated Development of Bagmati Civilization (HPCIDBC).


While monitoring the site on Wednesday morning, she said that further discussions will be held at the ministry “as the project area looks chaotic”. Minister Jhakri also directed to complete the work of the project on time.

Minister Jhakri said that the ministry would take initiatives for the management of the families in the construction area. She said that discussions should be held with other stakeholders to find alternatives for their relocation.


Navaraj Pyakurel, project director of HPCIDBC, said that the work of Site 1 of the project has been completed and the construction work of the second and third sites is about 70 percent complete.


He said that it was very sensitive and challenging to work as it was a project to build archeological and cultural structures. Stating that they are committed to completing the work on time as the project has a deadline of mid-July, Pyakurel said that he is urging the construction entrepreneurs and consultants to complete the project on time.
