KATHMANDU, August 17: The Impeachment Recommendation Committee will begin the discussion on the impeachment proposal registered in the House of Representatives against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana from Wednesday. The first meeting of the impeachment recommendation committee of the HoR has been called for 11:30 AM on Wednesday.
Lakshmi Prasad Gautam, Secretary of the Impeachment Recommendation Committee, said that the election of the Chairman, the procedure of the committee and other agendas will be discussed in the meeting on Wednesday. He said that the three-month procedure will start from Wednesday.

The first meeting of the Impeachment Recommendation Committee will be chaired by a senior member, Ram Bahadur Bista of Nepali Congress (NC). He has been assigned to chair the meeting.
There is a provision that within 7 days of holding the first meeting of the committee, the impeached Chief Justice SJB Rana must be summoned to present his justification.
The HoR meeting formed an impeachment recommendation committee to investigate the impeachment motion against Chief Justice SJB Rana. The impeachment recommendation committee has four members from the CPN-UML, two each from Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center) and one member each from CPN (Unified Socialist), Loktantrik Samajwadi Party and Janata Samajwadi Party.
The House of Representatives meeting on August 7 sent the impeachment against Jabara to the recommendation committee.
