“Blackmailers have been futile in their blackmailing. Are we to run after such types? Are we lobbying to close down the Gokarna Forest Resort?” asked Oli at the central committee meeting of the NCP on Wednesday.

He also defended the government decision to lease the Nepal Trust lands to Yeti Group claiming that the lease agreements meet all legal requirements.

He further claimed that there is no point in criticizing the decision to lease the Gokarna Forest Resort to the Yeti Group arguing that the resort was on the verge of closure after the foreign firm managing it suffered losses due to the Maoist insurgency.

The prime minister further claimed that he has no special friendship with the Yeti Group as alleged by the media.
