Measles outbreak in Rajpur

LAMAHI, April 28: A measles outbreak has been reported in Rajpur rural municipality of Dang district. More than 50 children in the rural municipality have contracted the disease so far, said Kamal Roka, the chief of the public health section at the rural municipality office.

A team comprising representatives of the stakeholders, health specialists and the rural municipality chair Lokraj KC on Saturday decided to initiate vaccination programme in the affected area after the disease that was seen since a month back did not subside.


Roka said as per the decision, the children at Ward Number 3, 4 and 5 of the rural municipality would be inoculated on April 29, 30 and May 1 respectively to contain the measles outbreak.  RSS
