Thunderbolts, the upcoming Marvel supervillain team-up movie, has confirmed who'll be in the line-up: Red Guardian, Ghost, US Agent, Taskmaster, Yelena, and The Winter Soldier, according to the report by IGN.
Revealed at D23 2022, the cast of Thunderbolts took to the stage to reveal the line up of Marvel's anti-hero team. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss' Valentina Allegra de Fontaine will manage a team made up of David Harbour's Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen's Ghost, Wyatt Russell's US Agent, Olga Kurylenko's Taskmaster, Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier.
Marvel Pushes Pause On ‘Thunderbolts’ Production Due To Writers...
Red Guardian, Yelena, and Taskmaster all hail from the recent Black Widow movie, while Ghost was last seen in Ant-Man and The Wasp. US Agent was one of the main antagonists of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which of course also starred beloved character Bucky Barnes.
“These are my kinds of people," said Sebastian Stan to fans in the room at D23. "They look like a good troubled bunch and maybe I know a thing or two about that.”
"Says a lot about the Thunderbolts when the beloved Winter Soldier is the most stable among them,” added MCU boss Kevin Feige.
Thunderbolts was rumored when Jake Schreier (Robot & Frank) was reportedly attached as director, and confirmed when Kevin Feige said it would conclude the MCU's Phase 5. We think it could learn some key lessons from DC's Suicide Squad.
Over the course of the comic’s history, there have been dozens of members in the Thunderbolts. This includes notable Marvel heroes like Black Widow, Ant-Man, Venom, and Deadpool on its roster.
However, the MCU has seemingly been building a team of antiheroes led by Julia Louis Dreyfus' Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, which includes the new Black Widow, Yelena Belova and John Walker aka U.S. Agent. It looks like that build-up is about to pay off exactly as we suspected.
