The statue of Pariyar was made by Bir Uparkoti of Byas Municipality-12. Pariyar, a singer by profession, was murdered by a mob of youths following the local level election on May 14, 2017.
In a separate context, leader Poudel blamed that although all communist leaders in Nepal were initially in favor of the US-aid grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), they were against the MCC at the behest of China.
According to him, the MCC was in the best interest of Nepal and the US intended to help Nepal prosper by generating and selling electricity.
Similarly, NC central member Shankar Bhandari bemoaned that NC did not properly honor the martyrs. He argued that NC could win in the election if it is further organized and unified.
Another central committee member Govinda Bhattarai argued that NC should support the family of martyr Pariyar.
Mayor of Byas Municipality Baikunthan Neupane shared that the municipality had allocated Rs 1 million to build a statue of Pariyar and develop a park in its surrounding.
