The declared Tharuwan autonomous state has Banke and Bardia districts of Bheri zone, Dang of Rapti zone, Kailali of Seti zone and Kanchanpur of Mahakali zone within its territory.
Central Secretary of the party CP Gajurel said: "I declare the Tharuwan autonomous state on behalf of my party."
At the same program, Maoist Central Member Ram Charan Chaudhary was declared as the convenor of the Tharuwan autonomous state.
Addressing the program, he said although the name was Tharuwan, not only the rights of Tharus but also that of other communities would be incorporated proportionally.
The declaration campaign was conducted as the preamble of the interim constitution mentions of federal republican country, said Gajurel.
The declaration is the beginning of the victory of the people, he said, and added the declaration is not a parallel government but start of people´s rule.
Another leader Lilamani Pokhrel said the country would not break by sharing communal rights.
