“The constitution would not be drafted without the Maoists leading the government,” Dahal said while addressing a function in Pokhara on Friday. “You should not think that the devils would draft the constitution keeping the Maoists away from power,” he added.
The Maoist chairman argued that the next meeting of the High Level Political Mechanism (HLPM) must take up the issues of the president´s move and the formation of a Maoist-led national unity government to conclude the peace process. He also claimed that a conspiracy was being hatched to thwart the peace process.
“We would not let them go scot-free if they don´t let peace prevail through the ongoing process,” he said, “But we will fight till the last hour for constitution drafting.”
Speaking at another function in Damauli of Tanahun, Dahal said the regressive elements were still active and doing their best to dissolve the Constituent Assembly.
