Manpower agents arrested for forging official documents

KATHMANDU, June 29:Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Kathmandu Tuesday arrested two people of a manpower agency over alleged misuse of letterhead, official stamp and the signature of the authority deputed in Nepali Embassy in Qatar.

KATHMANDU, June 29:Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Kathmandu Tuesday arrested two people of a manpower agency over alleged misuse of letterhead, official stamp and the signature of the authority deputed in Nepali Embassy in Qatar.


The arrested have been identified as Saha Bahadur Rana, 55, of Devisthan VDC and Netra Bahadur Pun, 45, of Dana VDC of Myagdi district.


The police arrested the two from Katmandu after people duped by the duo filed complaints against them.

The two operators of Aamitabha Buddha Manpower were found to have used forged documents to send people to Qatar as migrant workers.


They have been misusing letterhead and official stamp of the respective embassies and using fake signatures of officers concerned.


The two have been sent to Metropolitan Police Range Office, Kathmandu for further investigation. Meanwhile, the Division Office has also arrested a man on the charge of allegedly duping a person on the pretext of providing jobs in Nepal Electricity Authority.


The alleged has been identified as Aashutosh Kumar Aash aka Karna, 26, of Rajbiraj Municipality-9 of Saptari district. Following the complaints from the victim Dipendra Yadav of the same district, the alleged was arrested form Balkhu, Kathmandu, where he had been hiding.


As per the victim, Karna had identified himself as a high ranking official at the NEA and said that he was in a position to influence the outcome of the exams for NEA jobs.


He convinced Yadav of positive results if he provided Rs 1 million, following which Yadav sent him the money from Saptari via a money transfer.


But after receiving the cash Karna went incommunicado, compelling Yadav to seek police help in tracing him and getting his money back.
