Locals said Santa Bahadur Praja was beaten to death by a local on Monday morning. Santa Bahadur, 52, of Barhaghare-6, Ayodhyapuri, also known as Koile, was killed after being beaten on Monday morning, Bhairav Adhikari, a teacher said.[break]
According to Adhikari, Santa Bahadur´s body was found thrown on a farmland. San Bahadur Praja who had come on Sunday evening´s party, had drunk too much of alcohol when he asked for a cigarette from Santa Bahadur. Santa Bahadur had refused, and there had been an argument, Rajan Kadel, an eyewitness said. Although Kadel calmed the debate once, the argument quickly rose again.
The scene of crime is 60 kilometers from Bharatpur. San Bahadur had beaten Santa Bahadur for not giving him a cigarette when he later died. Son Bahadur has been taken under custody for investigation, police said. Police are yet to find out the reason of the incident.
There had been an argument of cigarette when San Bahadur beat up Santa Bahadur, witnesses said. "After being drunk, San Bahadur had asked for a cigarette from Santa Bahadur and the latter had refused. After that, argument broke out," Adhikari said. "However, we still don´t know who killed him." On the other hand, Chitwan district police said Santa Bahadur died due to San Bahadur´s beating.
