BUTWAL, Dec 13: A man allegedly involved in murdering five persons during robberies has landed in police net.
DSP Mukunda Marasini at Area Police Office, Butwal said that Chanaru Paswan, 60, of Sundarpur Chauraha-8 of Sarlahi was arrested from his home district on the charge of the murders.
He has been accused of committing multiple murders during the festive seasons since the last five years.
According to police, a gang involving Paswan killed Netra Kumari Basnet, 75, of Tillotama-5 on October 30, 2011 and Chandra Bahadur Kunwar of Rudrapur-9 on September 29, 2014.
This year, the gang murdered Chandra Kala Sapkota, 92, of Devdaha-8 on October 18, Ran Maya Pun, 32, of Rudrapur-5 on September 3 and Namkala Pandey, 21, of Devdaha-2 on October 28.
Police said that the gang had made off with valuables after injuring them. All of the injured had died while undergoing treatment.
SP Rabindra Dhanuk at District Police Office, Rupandehi told Republica Online that they have indentified other members of the gang, adding that a manhunt to nab them was underway.
Paswan has already accepted that he had committed 15 other robberies in the district.
