“Even before winning the title of Miss Nepal, I was interested in working with WWF. So this is like a dream come true,” she said.[break]
Explaining the role Malina would have to play, Anil Manandhar, Country Representative of WWF said, “Her responsibility is to represent the youth in environment conservation. It’ll prove as an opportunity for her to grow as a human.”
Last year, Sadichha Shrestha, the then current Miss Nepal, visited various regions in the country as part of her tenure with WWF.
She took part in the Generation Green campaign where she worked with students and eco clubs of various schools in and around the country, raising awareness of conservation and developing youth projects that focused on environment and species conservation.

This year, Malina will be involved with the species conservation program, specifically the Zero Poaching Campaign for Tigers in the Terai Arc Landscape (TAL) and in learning about climate change and later sharing the message with the rural communities in the Sacred Himalayan Landscape.
WWF Nepal each year appoints the current Miss Nepal as the Young Conservation Ambassador.
The first ambassador was appointed in 2004. Payal Shakya, Sugarika KC, Sitashma Chand, Zenisha Moktan, and Sadichha Shrestha have been appointed previous ambassadors.
