Bishal Rai A opened scoring for Machhindra in the 19th minute of the match utilizing Limbu´s cross. Limbu, then, doubled the scores in the injury time of the first half with a solo effort.
Ajay BK scored Machhindra´s third goal in the 67th minute as Limbu again provided an acute cross to BK to score from a close range. However, Ramesh Ghising made it 3-1 two minutes later from the penalty spot as Devendra Tamang handled the ball in the danger area.
Dilan Loktan scored for Machhindra in the 76th minute However, Limbu´s sublime performance continued and he added two goals in the 80th and the 85th minutes to seal the match 6-1 and to complete his hat-trick.
"We played well despite we did not have prepared well for the tournament," said Machhindra Coach Raju Kaji Shakya. "We´ll try to improve in the next match but we don´t expect much from this tournament. The tournament is an opportunity for us to get exposure and find area to improve for the upcoming league," he added. Shakya applauded Karna Limbu for his one-man show in the match.
Saraswati Coach Pradeep Nepal said that his side failed to improve the game after conceding the first goal.
