LWF Nepal has been providing relief support to the most-affected families of the rural areas with shelter, food and non-food items, hygiene kits in Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts. The new agreement with the UNHCR, LWF Nepal will provide emergency shelters and solar lanterns to additional families in remote parts of Sindhupalchok and Rasuwa districts.
LWF Nepal, the Emergency Operation Secretariat of ACT Alliance Nepal Forum, provided the support to more than 13,000 affectees in coordination with the local government agencies after conducting need assessments of those districts.Dr Prabin Manandhar, Country Director of LWF Nepal and Coordinator of Emergency Response, said, "We are in a better position to assist the affected people in collaboration with the UNHCR. UNHCR's long experience in humanitarian work further strengthens our support focused on PWDs, Dalits, senior citizens and the yet-to-be-reached people in these districts. We have scaled up our resources and will assist for early recovery of the affected people."
