LRI, Rara Hill win school basketball<br/>Double delight for Valley Public

KATHMANDU, Nov 6: LRI and Rara Hill clinched the titles of the First Valley-wide Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Friday under senior boys´ and girls´ sections respectively. [break]



LRI registered a comprehensive 42-19 win over Arniko in senior boys´ final match. Nimesh Rai scored the highest 15 points for LRI.



In senior girls´ title clash, Rara Hill edged past Gyanodaya Balbatika 21-15. Palistha Maharjan top scored with five points for the winning side.



Bishal Tamang of LRI and Bhumika Maharjan of Rara Hill were adjudged the most valuable players of the tournament. Likewise, GEMS and Malpi got the most disciplined team award under boys´ and girls´ categories.



Altogether, 12 teams each from both categories participated in the seven-day long tournament organized by Little Angel´s School on its premises.





Double delight for Valley Public



KATHMANDU, Nov 6: Both the teams of hosts Valley Public started on a winning note under boys´ category in the Fourth Valley Public Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Friday.



Hosts Valley Public ´A´ defeated Bhanu Bhakta Memorial 42-24 and ´B´ recorded a narrow win over Babylon. Likewise, Xavier defeated Gyan Niketan 54-48, Daffodil beat Himalaya 39-21, Elim Kids saw off Newton Children 28-15 and Innovative eased past Nightingale 21-12.



In girls´ category, Clinton Public edged past Bhanu Bhakta 18-12 and Bishnumati beat Babylon 7-6.



The nine-day long tournament will feature 20 teams in boys´ and 12 teams in girls´ categories.
