The club´s treasurer, JP Chand, said the postponement might be an attempt to take national games away from the far western region.

"Soon after the successful completion of the fourth National Games in Nepalgunuj in 2054 BS, the fifth event was scheduled to be held in far-western region, but later it was shifted to Kathmandu citing various reasons," Chand said, adding , "We will not keep quiet this time if the tournament is shifted elsewhere on any pretext."

Meanwhile, National Sports Council (NSC) member Prakash Bista clarified that the postponement was due to lack of budget for the final preparations.
