TAPLEJUNG, April 27: A child died and two others were injured in a lightning strike in Maiwakhola of the Taplejung district in eastern Nepal on Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as Dorchi Sherpa,11, a resident of Tamrang, Maiwakhola-4, whereas the injured are the child’s parents.

They were struck by lightning during dinner at around 9PM yesterday.
Injured critically, all three were taken to the District Hospital in an ambulance, but the doctors declared the child dead upon arrival. The parents are undergoing treatment.
