Rajbhandari, who was diagnosed with lung cancer, third stage, breathed his lat at Chabahil-based Om Hospital, at 12:30 early this morning.
He had been admitted at the hospital earlier in September 1 and was undergoing treatment at the CCU (Coronary Care Unit) of the hospital of late.[break]

Rajbhandari´s body has been kept at Pashupati Nath area for paying last tribute to him. According to his family, his body will be kept there till 10 this morning.
Legendary singer Rajbhandari was an accomplished singer and musician and has lent his voice to and composed music for more than 400 songs and hymns. Rajbhandari, who had been singing since the age of seven, has sung several popular Nepali songs including Banai khayo dadelo le, Yesto Pani Hudo Raicha, Sannani ko galai ma and Marna baru garho hunna etc.
Rajbhandari, one of the pillars of Nepali contemporary music along with Narayan Gopal, Gopal Yonjan and Nati Kaji, dedicated over five decades to Nepali music.
Rajbhandari was born on 28 November 1936. He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.
Regmi pays last respect to singer Phatteman
KATHMANDU, Sept 10 (RSS): Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi today paid final tribute to the late Phatteman Rajbhandari.
Chairman Regmi also met the bereaved family and extended heartfelt condolences to them.
Similarly, Finance Minister Shankar Koirala, Minister for Culture Ram Kumar Shrestha, Nepali Congress General Secretary Prakashman Singh, UCPN-Maoist leader Nanda Kishor Pun, different litterateurs and personalities associated to music sector were at Pashupati Elderly Home to pay last respects to the late singer.
His last rites will be conducted today.
