Legal action recommended against five sanitizer manufacturing companies

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has recommended legal action against five sanitizer manufacturing companies on the charge of mixing poisonous chemicals in their products.

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has recommended legal action against five sanitizer manufacturing companies on the charge of mixing poisonous chemicals in their products.


The DDA on Saturday sent a letter to the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, recommending legal action against four companies in Kathmandu and one in Bhaktapur district.

According to the notice issued by DDA, the administration has sought legal action against Nepal Kayakalp Industries in Bhaktapur, Hygienic Shop and Chemical Pvt Ltd, Adhar Chemical and Food Industries, Search Chem Cum Herbal Products and Surya Mukhi Herbal Products in Kathmandu district.


According to Nabin Mainali, administrator at DDA, these companies were found using ‘Methanol’ in their products. “Methanol is very harmful to human health,” he added.
