KATHMANDU, April 1: Laxmi Bank Ltd has announced the expansion of its 'low cost residential loans' on the occasion of its 14th anniversary.
Issuing a statement on Friday, the commercial bank said that the scheme, started in 2013 for the low-income families in Tansen and Pokhara, has now been expanded to Biratnagar and Kohalpur.

"The bank has expanded the low cost residential loans scheme to Biratnagar and Koholpur in collaboration with Sewa Pvt Ltd," reads the statement. The bank said that the scheme will offer low cost loans to build 120 houses in Biratnagar and 150 in Koholpur for low-income families.
The bank and Sewa Pvt ltd signed the agreement to this effect on Friday, according to the statement. "As per the agreement, the bank will lend a maximum of Rs 400,000 to low-income people on the recommendation of Sewa Pvt Ltd," the statement added.
