KATHMANDU, Sept 14: The last rites of Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Nembang will be held at Pashupati Aryaghat on Thursday.
According to Gagan Bista, secretary of CPN-UML’s Central Publicity and Publication Department, the last rites of Nembang, who was also the Vice Chairman of the UML, will be held with state honors at 11 am.

Before that, a funeral procession will take place from his residence in Baluwatar to Pashupati via Maharajgunj, Chabahil, and Gaushala. Those joining the funeral procession are requested to participate in Shankha Park, Dhumbarahi, and Gaushala.
Nembang died of a heart attack on Tuesday night. The government has already announced a public holiday to mourn his death on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Nembang’s body was taken to his residence in Baluwatar from the UML party headquarters in Chyasal after his two sons arrived in Kathmandu from abroad. His body was kept at the party headquarters to pay him the last respects.
Nembang's eldest son, Mingso Nembang, arrived in Kathmandu from the UK on Wednesday morning, while his younger son, Suhang Nembang, arrived home from Australia on Tuesday night.
The body was taken to Nembang's private residence to allow his relatives, friends, and family members to pay him the last respects as per their traditional rituals.
