Those deceased are identified as father Indra Bahadur Sunuwar (48) and his daughters—Ramila Sunuwar (12) and Reshma Sunuwar (2), Superintendent of Police Achyut Chapagain said. [break]
Mother Bhim Maya Sunuwar (46) and son Raj Kumar Sunuwar (10) were injured in the incident.
“We were preparing to sleep after having our dinner. My husband and daughters were sleeping while we, mother and son, were awake. We were able to run away when we noticed landslide was approaching but my husband and daughters failed ,” Chapagain quoted Bhim Maya as saying.
Rescue squads from Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force were able to recover the body buried under the debris.
The village is two-day trek from district headquarters.
