Landslide claims 7 lives in Bajura

DADELDHURA, Aug 10: Seven persons including four members of the same family were killed in a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall in Juwapani of Barabise VDC-5, Bajura district on Tuesday around 2 a.m.



Those deceased are identified as Mahamati Chadara, 32, and his sons—Roshan Chadara (12), Raju Chadara (4) and Shankar Chadara--along with Laxmi Chadara (28), Saraswati Chadara (3) and Bhagi Chadara, police said.[break]



Meanwhile, one person was rescued alive.



Rescue teams from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army were mobilized at the spot, Chief District Officer Yogendra Prasad Pandeya informed. He said that rescue operation was affected by incessant rainfall.
