Landslide blocks Kimrongkhola, forming artificial lake

KASKI, Oct 8: Kimrongkhola in Annapurna Rural Municipality has been blocked by a landslide. The local river in Annapurna-11 was blocked by a landslide forming a lake, said the ward chair Him Bahadur Gurung. The risks still remain as the pool of water started flowing at 11AM today, he said.

KASKI, Oct 8: Kimrongkhola in Annapurna Rural Municipality has been blocked by a landslide. The local river in Annapurna-11 was blocked by a landslide forming a lake, said the ward chair Him Bahadur Gurung. The risks still remain as the pool of water started flowing at 11AM today, he said.



"Kimrongkhola was blocked by a landslide last night. The pool of water started flowing after 15 hours. We have asked everyone to stay alert as there is a possibility of damage if it bursts suddenly," he said. Kimrongkhola flows into the Modi River through Jhinodanda of the ward-7 and 11.

The people living in the riverbanks of Annapurna-11, 10, 8 and 7 around the Modi river have been asked to be alert and safe, said the rural municipality spokesperson Bharat Man Gurung. Information about the river blockage has been sent to people's representatives of the respective wards, the police posts in Birethanti and Nayapul and local people, he said.
