Lalita Niwas land-grab scam: SC orders govt to show cause on writ petition of three arrested persons

KATHMANDU, June 30: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued a show cause order on the writ petition of the three accused arrested in connection with the Lalita Niwasland-grab scam.


On Friday, the bench of Justice Dr Kumar Chudal issued a show cause order to the Ministry of Home Affairs, responding to the case filed by Min Bahadur Gurung, Sudhir Shah and Dharma Prasad Gautam, who were arrested in connection with the case, claiming that it was illegal to arrest them in a case that had expired.

The three persons arrested in the Lalita Niwas case filed a writ of habeas corpus in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.


The police arrested them for investigation into the charge of obtaining government documents to illegally transfer government land of Lalita Niwas.
