KATHMANDU, Nov 26: Newly-appointed Romanian Ambassador to Nepal Daniela Sezonov Ten paid a courtesy call on Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha.
During the meeting held at the Ministry on Thursday, matters of mutual relations and bilateral interests between Nepal and Romania were discussed.
Nepal set to finalize historic labor agreement with Oman
Minister Shrestha urged Ambassador Daniela to make necessary arrangements to grant visas to Nepalis, who want to go to Romania for employment, from Nepal itself, according to the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security. Currently, Nepali nationals wanting to travel to Romania need to visit New Delhi to get a visa.
While recalling that Nepal had drafted a bilateral labor agreement and handed it over to the Romanian government, Minister Shrestha urged him to help finalize and implement the agreement. In the last five years alone, 7,618 Nepalis have gone to Romania with labor permits.
During the meeting, Ambassador Daniela said that the Romanian government is ready to cooperate on the issues raised by Nepal.
