KATHMANDU, AUGUST 31: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has asked the Kathmandu Fun Park Pvt Ltd to settle its tax dues. The Revenue Department of the metropolis directed the fun park to pay the business, rent, entertainment and advertising tax within 24 hours through a letter on Wednesday.
The metropolis has also warned that if the tax is not paid within the specified period, the fun park will be sealed and a fine will be imposed. The chief of Revenue Department of KMC Office, Dr Shiva Raj Adhikari, in the letter, stated, “The business tax and rent tax should be paid at the ward office concerned while the advertising and entertainment tax should be paid to the revenue department of the metropolis within 24 hours.”

"The fun park has not paid tax for seven years," said the chief of KMC’s Revenue Department.
Kathmandu Fun Park is a company of Tek Bahadur Gurung, a leader of the ruling Nepali Congress and a former Minister for Labor and Employment.
Earlier, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority had also filed a corruption case against 14 people including former ministers Badri Neupane and Tek Bahadur Gurung for committing corruption while leasing 60 acres of land in the Bhrikutimandap Fun Park of the Social Welfare Council.
