KATHMANDU, April 27: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has sealed off the Kota:dhuku Petrol Pump in Balaju, which has been operating from a house in Balaju against the criteria for the past five years.
On February 22, KMC asked the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) about the condition of all petrol pumps in its area following a complaint of increased insecurity due to the Kota:dhuku petrol pump located on the right side of the Balaju-Thamel road.

KMC had three inquiries about the petrol pump. According to the officials of the NOC, the questions were regarding the legal status of the pump, compliance with standards and the insecurity caused by it to the road and people.
In response to the letter, the NOC expressed its opinion that it will support the metropolis in removing the petrol pumps that are not following the set criteria. According to this, KMC Police Chief Raju Pandey said that the petrol pump was sealed by the metropolis on Thursday.
