KATHMANDU, Dec 21: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) on Wednesday demolished illegal physical structures built in KMC-10 by encroaching upon the riverbanks of Dhobi Khola in the capital, using bulldozers.
From 11AM on Wednesday, the KMC started removing the illegal structures along Dhobi Khola riverbanks in Devinagar, Anamnagar, Dhobi Khola of Ward No. 10 of the metropolis.

According to Raju Pandey, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police Office, KMC dozers rolled on a structure built on public land. He said, "We have started removing the structures. We are still at work. We do not know how many illegal structures we have to remove, the removal work is going on."
To remove all illegal structures in this area, the KMC had requested those concerned and issued a notice on July 17. In recent times, the KMC Police has been demolishing houses built by encroaching upon public land, removing hoarding boards that are against the standards, and taking action against the use of basements against the design of the building and street vendors.
