KKXI Fan Club 2018 celebrates fan cricket

A knock-out cricket tournament between online Nepali cricket fan clubs concluded in Royal Indoor Cricket, Golfutar, on Sunday. The game, hosted by Kathmandu Kings XI, was limited to 10 overs, per inning.

A knock-out cricket tournament between online Nepali cricket fan clubs concluded in Royal Indoor Cricket, Golfutar, on Sunday. The game, hosted by Kathmandu Kings XI, was limited to 10 overs, per inning.

Four fan clubs from Facebook and Twitter -- Nepali Cricket Fan Club, Nepali Cricket Supporters Society, Kings Cricket Club and The Twitter Blasters -- participated in the tournament. The final was played between Nepali Cricket Fan Club and Kings Cricket Club, where Nepal Cricket Fan Club stood victorious by four wickets to become the first KKXI Fan Club champion. 


Organizer Raj Jung Thapa stated, “The tournament was organized to celebrate the day for the cricket fans in Nepal.” Thapa was also hopeful to see a rise in the number of cricket fans through fan-club tournaments “Since our event was a success, we plan to organize it again,” he added.
