Leader Bhattarai despite becoming a prime minister lived a very simple life and was staunch man of principle.[break]
He played a vital role to institutionalize the political change following the 1990 People´s Movement by delivering constitution and curtailing the political transition emerged with the fall of one-party panchayat system in Nepal.
On the second death anniversary of leader Bhattarai popularly known as Kishunji in Nepali politics, the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Memorial Foundation organized a talk programme today.
On the occasion, former minister and senior journalist Homnath Dahal said Kishunji was an ardent lover of democracy, staunch follower of principle and a simple man without love for wealth and personal economy.
He urged the present political leaders to adopt the principle of the late Kishunji to successfully navigate the present transition and crisis.
Similarly, Nepali Congress central member Meena Pandey said anyone can learn a lot from the competence of Kishnuji who skillfully managed the political transition following 1990 people´s movement.
Professor Bishnu Poudel said Nepal could hardly get the political leader like Kishunji.
Other speakers including Foundation Chairman and senior journalist Purushottam Dahal, former parliamentarian Ak Bahadur Singh, former secretary Modraj Dotel and former ambassador Dr Dinesh Bhattarai said the lifestyle of leader Kishunji can be a source of inspiration for anyone to live an ideal life.
Kishunji is also an epitome of political morality, commented Foundation Chairman Mr Dahal.
It is worth mentioning here that a man of simple living, Kishunji, had entered the prime minister´s residence with three things- an umbrella, an urn and a small box-which were only things he had while leaving the prime minister´s residence. It is indeed a heavy blow to the power hungry and money-mongering politicians at present.
