DHANGADHI, April 2: Kathmandu Goldens has defeated Rupandehi Challengers by 63 runs at the Dhangadhi Premier League 2 underway at Seti Zone Police Cricket Ground on Monday.
Rupandehi Challengers was bundled out for 123 runs in 18.4 overs while it was chasing the 187-run target set by Kathmandu Goldens.
Even though Rupandehi’s Pradeep Airee notched up 57 runs including four fours and five sixes off 41 balls, other players could not perform well.

Except Sagar Pun and Dipak Prasad, who made 18 runs and 10 respectively for Rupandehi, other batsmen could not reach double digits.
To confine Rupandehi to paltry 123 runs, Kathmandu’s Rashid Khan took four wickets, Lalit Rajbangsi three, Shahab Alam two and Sunny Patel one wicket of its opponent team. Patel was declared the man-of-the match.
Captained by Shakti Gauchan, it is a second consecutive defeat for Rupandehi while second consecutive win for Kathmandu.
Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat first, Kathmandu Goldens had made 186 runs losing four wickets.
For Kathmandu, Sunny Patel made 48 not out runs, Suboth Bhati 42 while Amit Shrestha contributed 30 runs.
As many as six teams – Dhangadhi Team Chauraha, Kathmandu Goldens, Biratnagar Kings, CYC Attariya, Mahendranagar United, Rupandehi Challengers – are taking part in the DPL cricket tournament. The tournament which started on March 31 will come to an end on April 13.
