Kathmandu: Balen Shah leading with 51,189 votes, 1,55,037 votes counted so far

KATHMANDU, May 23: Independent candidate for the post of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) mayor, Balendra Shah continues to lead in the mayoral race.

KATHMANDU, May 23: Independent candidate for the post of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) mayor, Balendra Shah continues to lead in the mayoral race.


Shah  has so far got 51,189 votes and is leading his nearest rival Srijana Singh of the ruling alliance by over 19,000 votes. A leader of Nepali Congress NC), Singh is trailing behind Shah with 32,062 votes.

Similarly, CPN-UML mayoral candidate Keshav Sthapit is in the third position. He has received 31,336 votes while independent candidate Suman Sayami has received 9,203 votes. A total of 1,55,037 votes have been counted till 2:30PM.
