KATHMANDU, Oct 6: Written and directed by Sangita Shrestha, ‘Katha Kathmandu’ is an amalgamation of love, lust and life. ‘Katha Kathmandu’ presents three different stories. All stories are completely different from one-another but has the real-life happening of Kathmandu as their base. The distinct narrative each story has makes the viewers believe that they are watching three different movies.
The first is a tale of Nora and Saurav. Nora (Priyanka Karki) is a Kathmandu based model. She is in a relationship with Saurav (Pramod Agrahari) – a drug dealer. The couple is in the relationship for money and drugs.

The second story of the film is based on Rakesh’s encounter with three bullies. Rakesh (Sanjog Koirala) is a Kathmandu immigrant. He meets a smart and attractive girl named Kavya (Sandhya KC) in the same class.
Kavya and Rakesh get close to each other and eventually fall in love. The third story of the film is a love story between Aayush (Aayushman Desraj Joshi) and Sikha (Prekshya Adhikari). They are in a platonic relationship.
All three stories of the film are very strong. However, the blending of these stories in a single film has made the film messy and confusing. All stories connect at the end, but make no sense. The movie has failed to grasp the audience’s attention due to its inability to bind the stories together as a whole.
