SURKHET, Jan 24: The Karnali province has started the construction of two fully equipped police posts in two border points with China. The police posts will be set up in Hilsa of Humla and Dhomorilla of Dolpa within a year, according to the provincial minister for internal affairs and law, Naresh Bhandari.
"We hope to complete the construction in this fiscal year itself," Bhandari said. "We are also negotiating with China to open up the border points and start road connectivity." The provincial government is speeding up road construction to China.
Apart from constructing police posts, 14 infrastructure for the police will also be constructed. The construction has been priced at Rs. 60 million.
India gifts 36 ambulances, six buses and books to 51 libraries
Ambulance in 10 districts
The Ministry for Social Development has initiated the process to procure ambulances for 10 districts. "We hope this will help to increase access to health services efficiently at an affordable amount," Minister for Social Development, Dal Rawal said.
On the 10 districts inside Karnali province, Humla is yet to be connected to national road network while Dolpa was connected only recently. As a result, the ambulances of Dolpa and Humla will be used for the Provincial Hospital at Birendranagar.
The provincial government has also requested the federal government to waive tax on ambulances that it plans to procure.
