Karnali Govt decides to seal entry points along Nepal-China border

SURKHET, March 7: Karnali Province government on Friday decided to seal its border points along the Nepal-China border to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19.

SURKHET, March 7: Karnali Province government on Friday decided to seal its border points along the Nepal-China border to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19. 


Spokesperson of the provincial government and Provincial Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Bimala KC informed that the decision was made as part of provincial government's precautionary measures to prevent and contain coronavirus.

The province government also urged the public not to hug or shake their hands with others. "Similarly, organizing public functions, assemblies, fairs, festivals and gatherings within the province is restricted," Minister KC said while unveiling the province cabinet decisions. 


Five help desks will be set up in Hilsa of Humla, Kapurkot of Salyan, Babai and Kuine of Surkhet and at Surkhet Airport. Of them, Hilsa is along Nepal-China border, Kapurkot at Karnali-Province 5 border and Kuine lies at Karnali's border with Sudur Paschim Province. 


Moreover, the cabinet meeting decided to allocate the necessary budget to set up quarantine facility and isolation ward at the Karnali Provincial Hospital.
