A press statement issued by the Directorate of Public Relations of the Nepal Army said that in Jomsom, Mustang District, General Kapoor visited the Nepal Army´s high-altitude training center, where he was briefed by NA officers on high-altitude and mountain warfare training activities. Many army personnel from India and other countries take part in trainings at the center.
The statement also said that Kapoor visited the Indian Pension Distribution Office at Pokhara and addressed a rally of ex-Indian Army servicemen in Nepal. He spoke about the Indian government´s support for welfare schemes like road building and education. He distributed a special scooter to those physically-disabled during war, while his wife Kriti Kapoor distributed cash prizes and blankets to the families of army officers, the statement added.
Kapoor returned to Kathmandu later in the day to attend a dinner hosted by Chief of Army Staff Chhatra Man Singh Gurung at Army Headquarters.

Kapoor is scheduled to meet the prime minister and the defense minister Thursday, after which he will be conferred the title of Honorary General of the Nepal Army by President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at a special function at Shital Niwas.
