Kanti Highway closed due to rockslide

KATHMANDU, May 3: Vehicular movement along the Kanti Highway was disrupted following a landslide in the Kalche area of Lalitpur district. 

Engineer of Kanti Highway Widening Project, Rabindra Maharjan, said that the road section is closed until further notice after the road caved in due to a falling rock while carrying out maintenance works.

“The net and the Gabion wall built along the road at a narrow segment of the road one km away from Kalche towards Baguwa is completely damaged. A rock that fell during wall-cutting has completely damaged the net and Gabion wall such that vehicles cannot pass through this segment. The road will remain closed until the next notice,” he said.
