The dispute took place after presidents of both associations had come to watch the match. [break]
While Nepal was lagging behind 38-17 against Bangladesh the president of internationally recognized NKA Sunil Rajkarnikar tried to stop the match after consultations with the Asian Kabaddi Federation President Janardhan Singh Gehlot.
Gehlot had approved to stop the match but Lal Kumar Lama, the president of NSC recognized NKA objected the decision of stopping match. Rajkarnikar tried to stop the match citing that Nepal would face humiliating defeat and asked the players to leave the court but the players expressed their wishes to play the match full time.
Lama said that the players must play full game irrespective of what the result be. “If the match is stopped in the middle the emotions of the players will be hurt.” But Rajkarnikar had different logic as he said that the bronze medal was already fixed and it was not good idea to play in the hot weather.
Lama added that Rajkarnikar tried to reduce the match time which was against national feeling. “I tried to stop Rajkarnikar from the wrong move which would have hurt the emotion of the players,” Lama said.
Rajkarnikar said that he tried to stop the match with taking advantage of his good relation in international level and the match condition.
Following the dispute the match wasplayed for full time. AKF President Janardhan Singh Gehlot called up the Bangladesh coach to play in full stren0gth and defeat Nepal by huge margin. Nepal lost the match by 60-21.
