Executive Director of K-Lab Rajan Rayamajhi said it was introducing 75 new tests and were equipped to provide service report within two hours for 100 types of tests. [break]The brand new tests include Digoxin- a drug used to treat heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms and PHT- parathyroid hormone helps the body maintain stable calcium level in the blood.
Rayamajhi said that with the raising awareness on health people´s demand of diagnostic centre was increasing. “Number of new disease are being discovered and with the help of pathology services, early detection is possible,” he said the other features of the lab include top of the line equipment, trained personnel and strict environmental conditions for the accuracy of the test´s result.
Located at Bhatbhateni, the lab plans to expand its branches and establish more sample collection centers in near future.
The lab is being operated by the team of 35 healthcare professionals and also has technical collaboration with international brand include USA based Roche Professional Diagnostic, Switzerland based Orphee and others.
The lab is also introducing stem cell banking for the first time in Nepal. For the stem cell banking, lab will collect the stem cell from umbilical cord from the mother at the time of delivery and can be used in future for the treatment of diseased like Alzheimer, spinal injury, for regenerating heart muscle myocardio and so on. “We are initially offering the preserving service for 21 years,” he said.
The lab has expressed commitment to offer the service in normal market rates. He said, “Most people think lab tests are expensive but we are committed to provide quality service at reasonable price.”
Prior to the launch, the centre had provide free Body Mass Index (BMI) scanning services and collected data of 3,000 corporate clients for their BMI value and blood pressure as the part of its CSR.
