Jeep crash kills four in Baitadi

BAITADI, Dec 7: Four people have been killed while six have been injured in a jeep accident in Baitadi on Monday evening.


The jeep (Se 1 Ja 888) heading to Kailpal from Patan Bazaar has met with an accident at Sakar Thali of Patan Municipality-1. The deceased have been identified as Binod Bhattarai, 13, of Patar Municipality-1, Sakar, Rama Bhattarai, 72, Prem Chunara, 24, and Manisha BK, 20.

Similarly, the injured have been identified as Om Prakash Bhattarai of Patan Municipality-1, Janaki Bhattarai, Deepak Bhattarai, Mandhwaj Bhattarai, Bishnu Bhattarai and Govinda BK. All the dead and injured have been kept at Patan Primary Health Center. According to police, the jeep had 11 passengers including the driver onboard.


The jeep had fallen 100 meters from the road. Driver Khemraj Pandey of Patan-5 Basantapur is on the run. It is said that the accident could have caused due to unpaved and steep roads.
