KATHMANDU, Feb 12: A two-day international conference on English Language Teaching and Practical Linguistics organized by the Department of English, Tribhuvan University, concluded on Saturday in the capital. Organized on the main theme of 'Teachers as Change Actors: Teaching Research and Collaboration', the conference drew over 500 participants from various 12 countries. While Professor Carol Griffith of New Zealand Institute of Studies was a key presenter, over a dozen Nepali professors including Abhi Subedi, Bishnu Singh Rai, Laxman Gyawali and Ganga Ram Gautam made presentation on various subjects related to the theme. The conference also dwelt on various other issues including the language education policy, professional development of teachers, teaching English language in difficult circumstances, and development of appropriate curriculum and text book.
