KATHMANDU, May 9: Nepal Wada-Ryu Karate-Do Association has felicitated its karate players who won international medals in different tournaments on Tuesday.
The gold medal winner of Japan’s 12th Seiji Nishimura International Karate Tournament Bik Bahadur Thami, silver medalist Rimala Rai and bronze winner Purushottam Pokhrel were felicitated in the program held at Kathmandu.

Similarly, the gold medalists of IMAS Asian Open Kumite Championship held at Rajasthan, India, Chitra Prasad Shrestha, Alon Shrestha, Kuisang Lama, Mingmar Lama, Sushmita Waiba, Sajan Dong, Sagar Chaulagain, Navaraj Puri, Yuvraj Puri and Ramita Majhi were also felicitated in the program. Bronze medal winner Sujan Malla was also awarded in the program. Nepal finished runner-up in the championship. Manger of the squad, Netra Bahadur Bhujel was also graced with the award.
Minister of Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Sunar (Bishwakarma) and Nepal Sports Council’s Member-Secretary Keshav Kumar Bista awarded the players in the program.
