Injured CDO Bhattarai airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment

KATHMANDU, Jan 27: Chief District Officer Ganesh Bhattarai, who was seriously injured in yesterday's jeep accident in Bara district, has been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment today.

KATHMANDU, Jan 27: Chief District Officer Ganesh Bhattarai, who was seriously injured in yesterday's jeep accident in Bara district, has been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment today.


Bhattarai was brought to Dhapasi-based Grande International Hospital via helicopter at around 12 noon. A team of doctors from the hospital had reached Birgunj to airlift CDO Bhattarai. Bhattarai's condition is said to be very critical.

In the same accident, Superintendent of Police of the Armed Police Force Balaram Pokharel was killed when ill-fated jeep (Na 1 Jha 1633) belonging to CDO Bhattarai hit a parked tractor along the East-West Highway. The jeep was en route to Kalaiya from Hairwan of Sarlahi when it met with the accident at Pasaha Bridge.


Bodyguards of both CDO Bhattarai and SP Pokharel and driver of the vehicle had sustained minor injuries and have been receiving in the local health center.
