If you are a millionaire with the moderate wealth of at most US$30 million to your name, chances are that you are living in the United States. In 2018, the country was home to more than 8.5 million so-called high net worth individuals owing a combined US$22.68 billion in assets. Second on the list is China with around 1.2 million high net worth individuals owning US$4.99 billion, according to a report by consultant Wealth X. The United States is also home to most millionaires in total. When it comes to the country with the fastest increase of wealth in the high net worth segment, Nigeria tops the list with 16.3 percent growth, followed by Egypt (12.5 percent), Bangladesh (11.4 percent) and Vietnam (10.1 percent). The report reveals more interesting facts about the lucky people owning between one and 30 million dollars. Most of them live in New York, followed by Tokyo and Los Angeles. Because of the prevalence of the U.S. in the sector, it makes sense that Chicago (rank 6), San Francisco (rank 8), Washington D. C. (rank 9) and Dallas (rank 10) also made the top 10.
